Missy was born in
Indianapolis, Indiana,
but she was raised in south eastern Kentucky around Manchester & Hyden. She began
singing at age Four. She was raised on the sounds of Ralph Stanley, The Marshall Family, Flatt & Scruggs, And Bill Monroe.
Being from this part of Kentucky brought sounds of the old Primitive Baptist
Churches. She recalls hearing her own family singing Amazing Grace. "They would first speak the words, then sing them."
Her biggest influence in music was Judy Marshall, along with all of the Marshall Family. At the age of 4 she began singing
with her family, The Smith Family. They traveled all over the US
singing at numerous churches and festivals. In 1995 Missy had the chance to meet David Marshall of the Marshall Family at
the Coon Creek Girls Bluegrass Festival in Renfro Valley
Kentucky. From there she appeared and sang with him on stage at the
Renfro Valley
Entertainment Center about three times a month. From here Missy went on to record her first solo project with Crossroads
Records, (formally known as Horizon Music Group.) Her project included Sonya Isaacs, Becky Isaacs Bowman, Ben Isaacs, David
Marshall, Tim Surrett, and Tim Shelton (Newfoundroad.) In August of 2001, Missy married her best friend, Mike Vidito (Elisha's
Creek lead guitar player.) They have four beautiful little girls to whom they plan on passing this great heritage along to
someday. Missy is a born again Christian, and gives all the praise and glory to her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ for
giving her the opportunity to do what she loves. She says that her Pastor, Rev. Tony Cannon says it best, "Its not about
us, but it's all about Him." mvidito@yahoo.com
Mike has been playing
the guitar since he was eight years old.. His Biggest influences were his Grandfather, Harold Willoughby, and Rev. Tony Cannon.
(Pastor of his church, West Newton Worship
& Youth Center) In 2000, MikeTook 2nd place in the state of Indiana flat pickin contest, held then in Petersburg, Indiana. He helped do a workshop with Steve Kaufman.
He has played with several different gospel groups around the state of Indiana. He is the Father of four beautiful girls and Husband to Elisha’s Creeks’ lead singer, Missy.
His family and home church has been his passion for the last 6 years, and always will be, but now feels God is leading him
and his family in a new direction. Mike’s guitar playing is as big as his heart, and trust me, when you meet him, you
will understand just how big that is!!! martinman1964@yahoo.com
Rick
was raised in a Christian home in Utica, Indiana. At the age of 17 Rick was drafted by the Kansas City Royals Baseball
Organization where he was a pitcher for three years. However, The Lord dealt with his heart and he felt led to leave
the Royals to be use of the Lord. "I had worked all my life to reach a goal of playing major league baseball, but
deep inside I was empty. I had been raised in a Christian home and taught to put Jesus first in all that you do, but
I had not." A a witness for Christ and to use the baseball talents given to him, Rick has since been a coach at
both the high school and college levels, and is currently a scout for the Atlanta Braves Organization. Rick had no formal
bass lessons, but asked the Lord if He would help him learn, Rick would dedicate his playing for His glory. Rick has been
blessed to play for several group including River City Quartet, Clearwater Band, and The Hall Family. Rick is married
to Dorece, and they have three sons (Michael, Ricky, and Josh) and four grandchildren (Drew, Myha, Mikayla, and Kinley) Dorece was raised in Charlestown, Indiana. Her parents, originally from Harlan County, Kentucky, instilled strong
Christian values throughout her life. Dorece's Christian heritage also includes her grandfather who was a minister
that, at one time, walked across the mountains of southeastern Kentucky to preach in services in Virginia. Dorece's
love of singing gospel music began when she sang in church with her father at the age of seven. Years later, while singing
in her father's group, "The Spiritual Tones", Dorece met Rick. "We first met after a gospel singing
and even attended a gospel singing in Indianapolis on our wedding night." For ten years beginning in 1997, Dorece
traveled with Rick and their son, Josh, as part of "The Hall Family" "I feel blessed to have had the
opportunity to not only sing for the Lord and share His goodness to the hurting and lost, but to meet so many Christian brothers
and sisters." Rick and Dorece are a wonderful addition to the Elisha's Creek family.
